Ms. Joanne Bowie
Ms. Joanne Bowie, 56, of Washington, died Saturday, June 14, at Greater Southeast Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Austin T. and Nellie M. Bowie.
Surviving are four brothers, Francis C., Arthur T., Wright W. and Reginald T. Bowie and wife Christine of Frederick, and nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered by friends Ollie Williams, Mildred Joyner, Karen Williams, Jeanette Boyd, Kenneth Smith and goddaughter Tamala Dixon.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Lyles and Doris E. Snowden, and one brother, Austin N. Bowie.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Agape Bible Fellowship Church, 1022 58th Ave., Fairmont Heights. Pastor Mary Tilghman will officiate.
Interment will be in Bartonsville Community Cemetery, Frederick.
Arrangements are by Pope Funeral Home, Forestville.
