Fredrick Douglas Wayne, Jr.

Deacon Fredrick Douglas Wayne, Jr., "Pony", "Hoss Wayne", "Bossman", "Bro. Wayne" or "Brother" of Coolwell Road, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 in Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Madison Heights on May 29, 1942. He was twin born to Deacon Freddie Wayne, Sr. and Deaconess Deloris Wayne. He was educated in Amherst County Public Schools and graduated in June 1959. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox in 1998 after 31 years of service. After retiring, he continued plastering, a skill he learned at the age of 16. He was a lifelong member of Rose Chapel Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 38 years, Frances Allen Wayne; a son, Rodney (Sylvia) of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Veroncia L. Wayne of the residence; three grandchildren, Renard Wayne of the residence whom he called "his child", Ashley Wayne and his namesake, Austin Fredrick Wayne of San Diego, Calif. He is also survived by four sisters, Jacquelyn Wayne, Fredricka (Dimples-his twin) Hendricks, Myra (Wayne) Wood all of Madison Heights, and Garrie (Marvin) Daniels of Plainfield, N.J.; one brother, William-Billy (Ruby) Wayne; three uncles; four aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews; great nieces; great nephews; and other relatives and friends.
